International Pipe Industries Corporation (IPI), established in 1964, is the pioneer in the manufacture of large diameter spiral welded pipes and machinery fabrication in the Philippines and Southeast Asia. IPI is the only company to date that was authorized to use the prestigious American Petroleum Institute (API) monogram in the Philippines. IPI was also the first company in the Southeast Asia to design, build and export high-tension transmission poles, weight coating of submarine line pipe and manufacture polyurethane coated steel pipe piles.

Having developed the technical skills and management expertise, IPI initiated a joint venture project for a pipe plant in Indonesia, the Krakatau Hoogovens International Pipe Industries (KHI-PT), which IPI managed for 13 years.
